Dear Friends of Las Obras,
Right now the Franciscans and the people of Guatemala are hurting badly. The hospital at Las Obras is shut down, which means no income for Las Obras. The Guatemalan border is closed which means no doctors, no visitors, no tourists, no money - not only for Las Obras, but for Antigua and Guatemala in general. We also heard from Fr. Jesus that Las Obras has not received their annual assistance from the government, which is a large slice of their budget.
To help them out we propose the following: since we have to cancel our annual Coram Deo Mission Trip, we are asking you to donate the cost of your trip to help Las Obras in their time of greatest need. The cost for the trip this year would have been $1300. If you cannot donate the entire cost of the trip, please consider donating your airfare ($600) or housing costs ($300), or a week of meals ($200). These donations would go a long way in helping Las Obras pay their employees and continue to provide essential services to their residents. Over the years we have taken a lot of different people to Las Obras and many people have generously contributed to Las Obras. Our goal for this fundraiser is $30,000. If you would like to be a friend of Las Obras, please go to https://www.
We, along with the Franciscans, continue to trust in Divine Providence, knowing that God will always provide for us. Thank you for being a friend of Las Obras.
Paz y bien,
Fr. Philip Brune
Spiritual Director of Coram Deo

Hail Mary ...
Lord you left your Mother in our midst that she might accompany us.
May she take care of us and protect us on our journey, in our hearts, in our faith.
May she make us disciples like herself, missionaries like herself.
May she teach us to go out onto the streets.
May she teach us to step outside ourselves . . .
May she, by her meekness, by her peace, show us the way. Amen
