PURPOSE
To joyfully and sincerely welcome each person coming to Mass and/or other Services and Events at Holy Family Catholic Church.
 
IMPORTANCE OF THE GREETER MINISTY
The Greeter ministry is generally the first interaction newcomers or visitors to the parish encounter when coming to Holy Family.  Admittedly, this gets played out in a number of ways over the course of a person’s weekend experience.  However, more often than not, the most impactful way is a gentle smile and friendly greeting at the front door.  That greeting makes all the difference when it comes to influencing the unchurched or newcomer’s feelings and sense of belonging as they step into our church.
 
OVERVIEW
Greeters are needed for:

• All Weekend Masses
• Holiday Masses
• Weddings and Funerals
• Conference and other Church events

 
We would like each person who comes to Holy Family to feel that they are genuinely welcome, and that their presence is desired and valued. 
 
Role and Responsibilities

• Wear a name tag and dress appropriately
• Always be polite and smile while greeting
• Engage each person with joy and enthusiasm
• Inside greeters –
  • Greet people and distribute the Missalette/ song sheet/ children’s bulletin.
• Outside greeter - 
  • Greet people outside the building.   
  • Assist them as needed in opening the door.
  • Assist the elderly/handicapped as needed in getting out of their vehicles.

 
Time COMMITMENT

• Scheduled approximately once a month at your preferred Mass time.
• Plan to arrive to greet 20 minutes before Mass begins.
• Continue greeting until 5-10 after Mass begins.
• We ask that each minister commit to serve for a two (2) year period, at which time they can extend their service if they so desire.
