March 28, 1981 – Holy Family was established in 1981 by Archbishop Patrick F. Flores, Fr. Peters Higgins was assigned as the first pastor
April 25, 1981 – the first Mass was celebrated at the Colonial Northside Funeral Home Chapel, thanks to the generosity of the Gaylan Duncan family.
May 17, 1981 – the Altar Society Organization meeting was held, Carol Lehnert was elected the first president.
May 20, 1981 – the first meeting of the Pastoral Advisory Board was held. Members included: Gerald Bludau, Sam Cattan, Gaylan Duncan, Jerry Ehrman, Evelyn Hahn, Carol and Ed Lehnert, Bob Melnar, Joe Pustka, Bill Sage, George Totah and Gladys Welfel.
June 17, 1981 – the Choir Organizations Meeting was held. Mike Martinak was the first choir director of the parish.
September 16, 1981 – the first meeting of the CCD teachers took place at Colonial Chapel. Plans were made to being Religious Education in Parishioners homes.
October 22, 1981 – the Sew and Sew ladies met to begin the task of working on quilts for the soon to be annual parish festival
April 18, 1982 – the first Parish Festival was held, with George and Nancy Wenzel, and Ed and Agnes Janecek as the chairpersons. $46,553.00 was raised at the first festival.
May 29, 1982 – the new Diocese of Victoria was established, with Bishop Charles Grahmann as our first Bishop.
August 8, 1982 – clearing of the land at 704 Mallette, the site of our soon to be new church, was completed by Fr. Higgins and the parishioners of the parish.
February 13, 1983 – the contract for the new church was awarded to Don Krueger Construction with a bid of $1,248,000.00.
February 26, 1983 – the announcement was made that all the pews in the church and chapel had been donated
March 13, 1983 – Groundbreaking was held
July 24, 1983 – the announcement was made that the Altar and all the sanctuary furnishings had been donated.
October 9, 1983 –the cornerstone was prepared and placed in the inner wall of the church.
November 6, 1983 – a 300 space parking lot was installed by the parishioners
May 26, 1984 – the final Mass celebrated at Colonial North Funeral Chapel
May 27, 1984 – Holy Family of Joseph, Mary and Jesus was dedicated and consecrated by Bishop Charles Grahmann
November 4, 1984 – Fr. Peter Higgins was honored for his dedication and leadership, and a well-deserved rest was granted. Fr. Donald Ruppert was appointed the second pastor of Holy Family.
Early 1985 – the stained glass windows were installed at the top of the chapel and the windows of the church were replaced with stained glass windows representing the old and new testament.
March of 1985 – the first finance board was formed. The members included: George Wenzel, Sam Cattan, Gaylan Duncan, and Mike Martinak. Charles Bluntzer replaced Mike Martinak, after his death in 2010.
October of 1985 – the Knights of Columbus 9088 was chartered.
March of 1986 – a new organ was purchased and cabinets were constructed to house 14 speakers on each side of the back of the sanctuary.
1986– women Extraordinary members of Holy Communion were first allowed at Holy Family.
1986 – Saturday evening Vigil Masses began.
1986 – 2.68 acres of land was purchased adjacent to the church for future growth
1987 – a barbeque house was constructed on the church property.
October of 1988 - Fr. Wayne Flagg was appointed as Parochial Vicar of Holy Family
Spring of 1989 –Fr. Wayne Flagg left Holy Family for short sabbatical, before being assigned to St. Philip Neri in Houston, then approximately two years later Fr. Flagg began his new assignment back in the Diocese of Victoria as pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Frelsburg
1989 – a memorial, dedicated to all members of Holy Family who so valiantly served their country in the Armed Forces, was erected at the entrance to the parking lot.
In 1991 – A grand piano was purchased for the sanctuary.
October of 1992 –groundbreaking of the multi-purpose Religious Education Center.
September 1, 1993 – Fr Greg Korenek was appointed as Parochial Vicar of Holy Family.
April 24, 1994 –the multi-purpose Religious Education Center was dedicated.
November 19, 1994 – Our first permanent deacon, Deacon Steve Borowicz was ordained.
1995 – first girls were permitted in the altar servers training classes.
July of 1996 – Fr. Greg Korenek was appointed the third pastor of Holy Family, after a short sabbatical, Fr. Donald Ruppert was appointed pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard.
August 22, 1996 – Fr. Peter Kaplinski was appointed Parochial Vicar of Holy Family.
1998 – the first youth group under the direction of Annie Wearden was established.
July of 1999 – Judy Seiler became the second and current youth minister for Holy Family.
November 27, 1999– groundbreaking was held for the new Activity Center.
February 28, 2000 –Fr. Gary Williams was appointed Parochial vicar of Holy Family.
January 16, 2001 – Fr. Gary Williams was transferred to Greenville, Alabama.
June 2, 2001 – Fr. Roger Hawes was assigned as Parochial Vicar of Holy Family.
April 22, 2001 – Dedication of the new Activity Center was held.
July 1, 2003 – Fr. Roger Hawes was assigned as Pastor of St. Joseph in Yoakum, Texas
October 1, 2003 – Fr. Gabriel Bentil was assigned as Parochial Vicar at Holy Family.
August 31, 2004 – Fr. Gabriel Bentil left to pursue graduate studies in Chicago, Illinois.
November 1, 2004 – Fr. Max Obiri-Yeboah joined our parish as Parochial Vicar.
June 1, 2005 - Fr. Max Obiri-Yeboah left our parish for an appointment in Port Lavaca.
June of 2005 – Krueger Construction was awarded the contract to build a multi-purpose room, music room and needed storage in the main church building.
December 18, 2005 – the multi-purpose room, music room and needed storage in the main church building, was completed.
December of 2006 - Msgr Peter Agbenu came to Holy Family as Parochial Vicar.
July of 2007 – a larger Rectory was built closer to the church by O.K. Custom Homes for a cost of $358,000.
September 2008 – the Rectory was completed and the first rectory on Kirkwall street was put on the market for sale. The first rectory was sold August 9, 2009.
September 2009 – Fr. Patrick Knippenberg was assigned to spend his pastoral year here at Holy Family.
January 2010 – the church and adjourning buildings were vandalized. Theft and damages cost approximate $22,000.00 and many clean up hours.
June 2010 – Fr. George Henninger was assigned as Parochial Vicar at Holy Family.
June 22, 2011– Fr. Greg Korenek was transferred to Bay City where he became pastor of Holy Cross.
June 22, 2011 – Fr. Bob Knippenberg became the fourth Pastor of Holy Family.
June 19, 2013 – Fr. Bob Knippenberg is transferred to Holy Family and its missions in Wharton.
June 2013 – Fr. Dan Morales became the fifth Pastor of Holy Family
July 1, 2014 – Fr. Lawrence Mensah was assigned as Parochial Vicar of Holy Family
September 16, 2014 –Fr. George Henninger was medically retired from the Diocese of Victoria.
October 12, 2014 – Fr. Oliver Obele was assigned Parochial Vicar of Holy Family.
July 1, 2015 - Fr. Jacob Koether, newly ordained priest, was assigned as Parochial Vicar at Holy Family
September 15, 2015 – Fr. Oliver Obele leaves for his assignment in New Mexico.
July 5, 2016 – Fr. Barnabas Kyeah is assigned as Parochial Vicar of Holy Family.
July 23, 2016 – Deacon Edward Huse is ordained the second deacon of Holy Family.
July 24, 2016 – Fr. Lawrence Mensah leaves to go back to Africa for his new assignment.
September 3, 2016 – Fr. Dan Morales died of cancer.
September 3, 2016 – Fr. Jacob Koether is appointed Pastoral Administrator of Holy Family.
November 20, 2016 - Fr. Barnabas Kyeah leaves Holy Family for his next assignment as Parochial Administrator of St. Joseph in Inez.
November 20, 2016 – Fr. Jacob Koether leaves Holy Family for his next assignment as
Parochial Vicar at St. Joseph in Yoakum.
November 21, 2016 – Fr. Gabriel Bentil is assigned as the sixth Pastor of Holy Family.
January 4, 2017 – Fr. Patrick Knippenberg is assigned as Parochial Vicar of Holy Family.
May 2, 2021 - Fr. Patrick Knippenberg leaves Holy Family for his next assignment as Pastor at Our Lady of Lourdes in Victoria.
September 3, 2022 - Fr. Jonas Kuubeta is appointed Parochial Vicar of Holy Family.
May 31, 2023 - Fr. Jonas Kuubeta leaves Holy Family for his next assignment as Parochial Vicar at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Victory.
June 1, 2023 - Fr. Ryan Kapavik, newly ordained priest, is assigned to Holy Family as Parochial Vicar.
