Holy Family Catholic Church Youth & Young Adult Ministry Schedule & Diocese of Victoria Youth Ministry Events September 2010 August 2011 CCD classes are every Wednesday- Session I 5:30-6:30pm Session II - 6-7:00 p.m. - Session III -7-8:00pm Childrens Liturgy of the Word every Sunday at the 11:00 a.m. Mass Youth Mass Third Sunday of the month at 11:00 a.m. Youth Choir Practice every Thursday from 6-6:45 p.m. Perform 2nd Sunday of month at 11:00 a.m. Mass Adoration in the Chapel every Thursday evening -Friday evening ************************************************************************************************ Come and join the Holy Family Youth Choir for youth in 3rd grade and up. Will take place in Little Rock, Ark. Cost of trip $325 includes transportation, hotel, meals and t-shirt. Join thousands of other teens for an amazing experience. Registration deadline Oct. 1. This program is designed to instill and enhance leadership skills and provide ministry opportunities for high school and college age young people of the diocese. September 9, 2010 - Theology at the Well - at Chili's in Victoria - 6:45 - 8:30 p.m. Sponsored by the Catholic Young Adult Group and is open to all young adults. This program is a casual forum of straight talk, hard facts and real answers to living our faith - topic is "Give me your tired . Presented by Fr. Dan Morales. Bring a friend! September 15, 2010 Mass at Victoria College at 12:30 p.m. College students have the opportunity to celebrate Mass with Fr. Michael Rother, at the VC Student Ctr. RM A-D. Social following bring friends! September 18, 2010 - 'Wash for Life' - Carwash at Holy Family from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. The Wash for Life is an annual pro-life youth event. On the same day, groups of youth all over the country hold a car wash in their own home town and donate the money to a local Pregnancy Care Center. This way, they participate in a national event while at the same time helping their own community. September 18, 2010 Renewing the Vision and Advocacy from 9-12 noon. Foundations is a Certificate Program in Youth Ministry Studies sponsored by the Diocese of Victoria. This program seeks to enhance the formation and training of people who minister to adolescents (ages 12-18). Contact the youth office for more information. September 19, 2010 Youth Mass at 11:00 am. Youth take part in readings, serving, ushering and carry gifts. Christian contemporary music by Holy Family Music Ministry. This event is to provide a safe place for children and families to enjoy the celebration of Holy Evening. 6pm Mass and social to follow. Children games, costume contest and delicious Frito pies and refreshments provided for all families at no charge. Jr. High and High School ages are needed to manage game booths. November 1, 2009 Wrap A Child In Warmth Campaign begins at Holy Family. Donated new or used children and youth size coats, sweaters and hoodies are appreciated. Warm blankets that are in great condition will be welcomed too. November 6-7, 2010 EL SHADDAI CAMP FOR JR HIGH AGES Located at the El Shaddai Ranch Retreat center. Come and join other youth for a weekend of fun, team work and spiritual activities.
